Abstract
Este artículo analiza los factores que obstaculizan y facilitan el cese o la reducción de la violencia de género en la pareja. Según la revisión de literatura esos factores están relacionados con recursos externos y personales. Los recursos externos abarcan la respuesta de la red social y de las instituciones ante el maltrato, y el acceso a los recursos materiales. Los recursos personales comprenden las estrategias de afrontamiento, resiliencia y creencias. Se propone que la recuperación de la violencia depende de la posibilidad de la mujer contar con recursos externos adecuados y de conectar con sus recursos personales. Comprender esos recursos permite la promoción de intervenciones que instrumentalicen las redes y las instituciones y favorezcan el empoderamiento para que ellas resistan a la violencia.
