Abstract

The paper presents a review of the theoretical models, instruments and investigations about acculturation, and studies related to the insertion’s process of the immigrants in the reception society, during the last 20 years. It is observed the evolution of the explainable models and the new paradigms tendencies on this area in the last years. The dimensions of evolution are analyzed and used for the understanding of acculturation tools, and a review of acculturation studies is applied to health, education and occupation issues.
